Artist's Comments

Light, waves, colors....it all came together here on this evening at Seal Rocks Park, Oregon. I'd been waiting years to make this shot.

A very difficult exposure, this was a combination of graduated ND fitlers, polarizer and a couple manual blends for the sky and sun areas.

I love the shutter speed you chose for the water. I'm guessing probably around 3-5 seconds?

It was 1 second. If you want to show motion in the ocean's surface, around 1 second is good. 5 would definitely blur and soften it a lot. Around 1/4 is great for exploding waves.
