A couple Alders still standing....all that was left behind by the clear-cut machine in Washinton's Olympic Penninsula. Think about 20,000 square miles with not a single old-growth tree remaining anywhere. Ecosystems that take thousands of years to mature and develop, stipped away in the blink of an eye, replaced by tree farms that offer a fraction of the biodiversity.

As artists, we all have a powerful tool with which to communicate to the world the issues important to us.

It's terrible what we're doing to this world.

They do the same thing here (Australia, specifically Tasmania, probably the same company) I don't understand how anyone can look at this and say that the end result is a worthwhile outcome. If this is what we need to do to maintain the economy, create jobs / growth etc. then we are doing it wrong.

A disturbing picture. And sad.
The mist reminds me of the aftermath of combat on a battlefield. And it's true, parts of the "slaughtered" are still lying around.

Thank you for uploading this picture.

How beautiful and deserted looking.
This shot reminds me of work by Ansel Adams.
This black and white shot is just as impressive as any of your color shots.
Nice job!

Such a terrible waste =(

Modern society has completely lost any concept of where it came from and what it will relies on.
I can't stand the meme that man has dominion over nature - it will be our undoing.
