A couple Alders still standing....all that was left behind by the clear-cut machine in Washinton's Olympic Penninsula. Think about 20,000 square miles with not a single old-growth tree remaining anywhere. Ecosystems that take thousands of years to mature and develop, stipped away in the blink of an eye, replaced by tree farms that offer a fraction of the biodiversity.
As artists, we all have a powerful tool with which to communicate to the world the issues important to us. |
