This is a high and remote region off trail in Washington's North Cascades. It is about 20 miles from the nearest trailhead, and involved days of backpacking after being dropped off by boat.

Love the texture of the foreground. It looks almost 3D. Any special post-work ?

Dr. House: Ah! The husband described her as being unusually irritable recently.
Dr. Cameron: And?
Dr. House: I didn't know it was possible for a woman to be unusually irritable.

I actually became quite friendly with a bear at this location. I named him Ted. I could see him foraging through incredible amounts of Huckleberries just across a lake and down a slope from where I camped and slept for all four days I was there. Fortunately, my food was hung up well away from camp and he was far more interested in the immense berry crop on this year.
I banged up my leg pretty bad just last week while out hiking in icy conditions, but that's unusual. I'm sure it's possible that one day I might injure myself to the point that it's tough to get back out, but it's simply not possible for me to live without the wilderness experience in my life.

such a wonderful illustrative quality to the light - you are the master!

Sounds tiring. A real adventure certainly worth the trip. Would love to go there one day given the chance and the resources.
