Artist's Comments

One of my discoveries while hiking the remote eastern Owyhee plateau of Oregon was this lone Juniper, at least ten miles in any direction from its nearest brother. A Jack-rabbit passerby seemed to have found interest in it briefly. I photographed it at sunset.

I really wish you will find some time to describe your progress with photographing from A to Z one day (even briefly). Telling you, that you have incredibly beautiful photos is not neccesary I believe.
Could you please once photograph one of your scenes with normal compact camera on AUTO settings so we can see what everything in your photos is reality and what's the matter of your experience?
Have a nice christmass by the way ;)

Comments like "That's nice!"and similiar don't really help anyone, it's only a useless blabber.
-> Summarize your opinions/objections and try to tell the artist what could he/she improve - that's what truly helps.

A compact camera on AUTO settings would be further from 'reality' than what you see here IMO.

In this case, all I did was color adjusted the RAW and did a small amount of dodge/burn. Sometimes it's more, sometimes less.

I've made a tremendous effort to describe many of my processes on a variety of forums. It would simply be too much time to go step by step through each image though. I am happy to answer specific questions.

Mmm, I love my home state and all its features when you least expect them, and you really just captured it perfectly! The colours are very rich and wild. Very nicely done!

I like how the clouds almost seem to radiate from the lone tree. Very nicely done!
