Artist's Comments

Spring wildflowers on the northern California shore bathed in the warm, luminous light of sunset. I waited around on location for at least a week to finally get some good conditions to make this image.

Very Nice! Lovely light.

This picture is spectacular! I would say well worth the week's wait.

Ack! Another amazing sky! Lovely contrast between the flowers and the beach. I should visit Norcal sometime.
:iconsuifox:
However do you make the colors come out that spectacular?

Woah! I like this HDR! Only distruptive thing is slant of the horizon..

I don't ever do HDR, but there was one manual blend for the background cliffs at left, in additon to 5-stops of graduated ND filter (when used heavily, these Singh-Ray grads can add a little magenta/red enhancement). The color processing was almost all done in RAW. I did add a little extra pop to the flowers, but not much.
:iconmarcadamus:
Again, this was not HDR. See my reply to this above. The horizon slant is an illusion caused by the water on the right side of the island against the land, not the true horizon.
